報告題目：A hybrid continuous/discrete-time model for invasion dynamics of zebra mussels in rivers

報告摘要：While some species spread upstream in river environments, not all invasive species are successful in spreading upriver. Here the dynamics of unidirectional water flow found in rivers can play a role in determining invasion success. We develop a continuous-discrete hybrid benthic-drift population model to describe the dynamics of invasive freshwater mussels in rivers. In the model, a reaction-advection-diffusion equation coupled to an ordinary differential equation describes the larval dispersal in the drift until settling to the benthos, while two difference equations describe the population growth on the benthos. We study the population persistence criteria based on three related measures: fundamental niche, source-sink distribution, and net reproductive rate. We calculate the critical domain size in a bounded domain by analyzing a next generation operator. We analyze the upstream and downstream spreading speeds in an unbounded domain. The model is parameterized by available data in the literature. Combining the results of model parameterization and theoretical analysis, we numerically analyze how the interaction between population growth and dispersal, river flow rate, and water temperature, affects both persistence and the spread of zebra mussels along a river.

黃啟華教授簡介

黃啟華，西南大學(xué)yl7703永利官網(wǎng)教授，博士生導(dǎo)師。2011年8月在美國 University of Louisiana at Lafayette 獲得應(yīng)用數(shù)學(xué)博士學(xué)位。2011年8月至2016年6月在加拿大 University of Alberta 生物數(shù)學(xué)中心從事博士后研究工作，主要合作導(dǎo)師為 Mark Lewis 教授 (加拿大皇家科學(xué)院院士，Senior Canada Research Chair in Mathematical Biology)。2016年6月通過西南大學(xué)人才引進“聚賢工程”計劃被特別評聘為教授，并于2016年9月到西南大學(xué)工作。主要研究方向為生物數(shù)學(xué)、偏微分方程和數(shù)值分析?？蒲谐晒饕l(fā)表在應(yīng)用數(shù)學(xué)期刊 SIAM Journal on Applied Mathematics等，生物數(shù)學(xué)期刊 Journal of Mathematical Biology 等，以及理論生態(tài)學(xué)期刊 Theoretical Ecology等。目前正主持國家自然科學(xué)基金面上項目和重慶市留學(xué)人員回國創(chuàng)新支持計劃重點項目各一項。
